Meet Keith Magee
What do you do at Trinity?
I am the senior pastor at Trinity, a job I love to do.
How long have you been at Trinity?
I started on July 1, 1995.
How did you come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
I accepted the Lord as my savior when I was five years old. My brother lead me to the Lord on my dad’s farm.
What do you think God is teaching you right now, at this point in your life?
I feel the greatest thing I am learning is God’s amazing grace toward me. As I live that grace I not only apply it toward me but toward all people. I try to see them as God seems them. I believe we have such a merciful God.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
I love to watch college football. In the fall it is my favorite time of the year. Not only because of the beautiful colors but nothing beats a great college football game.
What is your favorite food?
I love to cook so I have a lot of great food that I like. It is hard to beat a really great BBQ. Grilling whether it is vegetables, meat or fish is just outstanding. I could stand over a BBQ for hours and never wear out.
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
In my former life, as I tell my closest friends, I was a Little League baseball coach and manager for my kids for 18 years. We went to Little League playoffs and I spent all my Saturdays at a little league field. My oldest son Lee actually played on the Yucaipa High School baseball team that won the Southern California Division III Baseball Championship. They were the first team to win a state high school championship for Yucaipa high. The game was played at Angels, stadium.

What do you do at Trinity?
As the Associate Pastor I help Pastor Keith in whatever way he needs me to. I fill in for him occasionally, help the evening service leaders as I can, am the go-between with the preschool and the church and I do whatever I can to help Trinity thrive and grow.

My wife and I have been attending for about 2 1/2 years and I have been on staff since 11/23/08.
How did you come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
After graduating from USC I took a trip around the world for 2 years that ended with accepting Jesus in my life in a small Anglican church in southern Spain back during the Christmas holiday in 1973.
What do you think God is teaching you right now, at this point in your life?
Probably to continue to take a stronger leadership role which involves a continued dependence upon prayer.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
I love to play golf, hang out at the beach and take trips and have dinners with my wife Wendy.
What is your favorite food?
Probably Mexican is my favorite!
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
That I was a nine-time national paddle tennis champion ranked #1 in the country from 1981-1988 but that it does not translate over to my golf game (yet)!

What do you do at Trinity?
I am privileged to serve as Financial Administrator at Trinity, directed and supervised by Trinity’s Stewardship Committee. This position includes the financial work for the Church and Trinity Baptist Children's Center including accounting, budget preparation, payroll as well as ensuring with great care that donations by our members and friends are used for the purpose the donor intended.
For me the work is interesting because of its variety – scheduling of facilities, risk management and human resources are also part of the responsibilities. And I am especially thankful to work with our wonderful church and preschool staff as they love and shine for our Lord.
How long have you been at Trinity?
My husband, Fred and I were led by the Lord to Trinity during the summer of 2008.
How did you come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
During my Sophomore year at Lehigh University, members of the Navigators’ college ministry led me to the Lord - one of many reasons I am thrilled that Trinity opens its doors to Campus Crusade for Christ each summer.
What do you think God is teaching you right now, at this point in your life?
One of the best aspects of being well into my “middle years” is seeing the evidence of God’s love and faithfulness to me through the decades and witnessing how He has truly directed my path. God has taught me how much better obedience to Him is than insisting on “my way” as I have suffered consequences when I’ve strayed.
In certain circumstances, the Lord has given me the privilege of seeing very clearly how He has guided me according to His plan, not mine.. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your paths”. Proverbs 3:5-6. And I am still a work in progress, making mistakes, seeking forgiveness and growing in Christ.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
Hiking, being a homemaker, gardening, Community Bible Study and watching baseball.
What is your favorite food?
Alas, I have too many – Baskin Robbins pralines and cream ice cream is close to the top of the list since childhood!
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
When I lived in Manhattan, NYC for 10 years, I loved running – especially around the reservoir in Central Park and ran many a 10K race – my best time in a 10K? 49 minutes (an 8.0 minute per mile pace).

What do you do at Trinity?
Small Groups Ministry Servant
How long have you been at Trinity?
I’ve been attending since October of 2007, joined staff May 1st 2008.
How did you come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
I grew up going to church and believed in God. I knew I was a sinner because my mother often clenched her teeth and called me by my full name! At about 7 my family relocated to Seattle and moved next door to people we called “Jesus Freaks” but they showed such love to everyone and I could tell it was real. They told me it came from Jesus living inside of them and forgiving their sins. I knelt on their living room floor at about the age of 8 and invited Jesus and His love into my heart.
What do you think God is teaching you right now, at this point in your life?
Listen more and speak less. As St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the Gospel at all times, if necessary, use words.” And “Be still and know that I am God.”
What do you love to do in your spare time?
I love animals. I love watching dogs play. Taking my dog to the dog park. I would own a ranch with tons of animals if I could.
What is your favorite food?
Ah, I’ll never get over my mother’s Italian cooking! Cheese Ravioli awaits me in Heaven!
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
I’m actually a great mimic. I can mimic people pretty well if I am around them enough, all in good fun!
